Manassas/Manassas Park – On Saturday May 15th Yes You Can!  Young Lady – Young Man, in conjunction with Manassas City Mayor Harry Parrish’s Office, hosted a Roundtable discussion.  The purpose of the Roundtable was for all in attendance to voice their concerns and to articulate what they feel are the unmet needs of our youth, how we can work in partnership with one another to better serve youth, and also avoid duplication of current services.

 

The Roundtable was facilitated by Nina R. Maxberry, Executive Director in conjunction with Mayor Harry Parrish. and Mr. H. "Hatcat" Mills, Founder, and Managing Director of Yes You Can!  Young Lady – Young Man. 

Those who attended include Manassas City Councilmember Sheryl Bass, UNITY in the Community member, Illana Naylor, Ralph Smith, NAACP President and Ron Robinson, President of Brainstorm Learning LLC.
Councilmember Marc Aveni, Manassas City Schools, his wife Martha Aveni, NAACP President, Ralph Smith, Jeanette Rishell and Dora Brooks.
Ed Rishell, Manassas Park Planning Commission and Officer Rodriuez, School Resource Officer from Osbourn High also provided insight into the issues the county is facing and the opportunities or ideas to move forward in addressing the issues.

Bina Giles (Reliable Rails) a  supporter of YYCYLYM and Linda "Miss Sunshine" Jefferson, Community Liason for YYCYLYM.

Yes You Can! Young Lady – Young Man  is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth mentoring organization that serves the young people in our area through a commitment to ongoing programs, and a safe place where young people will receive helping hands and ears.
